The Voice Winner Maelyn Jarmon Says Game Of Thrones’ Final Season Was More Stressful Than The Competition
‘s Season 16 winner Maelyn Jarmon had a lot to be stressed about over the past couple months as each passing week could’ve meant the end of her run on the program. While she may have had some stress related to that, Jarmon told CinemaBlend that there was something else stressing her out a lot more: Season 8 of .
It’s funny because you like, watch TV to like help you like decompress, and like, calm your stress levels. That show had me way more stressed than this competition! But I haven’t even seen the last episode so don’t tell me anything. I’m gonna watch that tonight.
As mentioned, ‘s Maelyn Jarmon was glued to like the rest of the world, despite the fact that a vast majority of viewers weren’t competing in a life-changing singing competition. Obviously the stressful situation in Westeros didn’t get in her head so much that it affected her performances, but the tension of the series apparently cut into some otherwise peaceful downtime she could’ve otherwise enjoyed.
That’s all in the past though, and now Maelyn Jarmon can finally kick back and enjoy the final episode of , which aired the night before the first night of ‘s Season 16 finale. When asked to give her thoughts on what she believed happened in the finale, Jarmon revealed what she thought will and won’t happen.
I think that everybody wants Jon Snow to be on the throne, so I think they’re not going to do that. It’s gotta be something weird. It’s either going to be, this whole time I thought it was ‘Gingery’, but it’s Gendry, It’s either going to be him on the throne, I think, or for some reason Bran is in my head. I don’t know why. I don’t know. I don’t know.
At the risk of spoiling for anyone reading, we’ll just let that comment stand as is. It’s actually somewhat surprising to me that Maelyn Jarmon didn’t pick Sansa, Dany, or Arya, considering winners on have been women for four seasons straight now. Jarmon, of course, is the latest lady to win it all, and is the first winner under coach John Legend.
So, with all this television talk, is there ever a chance Maelyn Jarmon could appear in a television series like ? Although Jarmon didn’t speak to that specifically, she did say she is interested in having a career like coach (and sometimes disagreeable husband) John Legend in which she does a little bit of everything. Releasing albums is one thing, but that’s not the only outlet a talented singer can get into professionally.
I have interest in musical theater and I have interest in doing songs for movies and film and even maybe doing voiceover work. So I have a lot of different things I’d love to do. So I think that he’s a great role model for that.
Maelyn Jarmon sounds like she’s trying to join coach John Legend in obtaining EGOT status later in life. That’s a lofty ambition, but it’s doubtful anyone can argue she can’t one day achieve that given her tremendous run on .
is set to return to NBC for Season 17, and while not everyone may be happy about it, all the coaches are set to return. Stick with CinemaBlend for more updates on the competition in the meantime, and for more on what’s happening in television, pop culture, and movies.
